5 c warm water
1 c honey, molasses or brown sugar
2 Tbsp yeast
1 1/2 c oil or applesauce
3 eggs
Mix the above ingredients and stir in as much flour as you can. Empty dough onto heavily
floured baord adn begin kneading flour into dough. Knead until dough becomes smooth and soft (do not add too much flour). Dump dough into a well oiled bowl, turning to coat dough. Let rise until doubled in size. Turn out onto oiled surface and knead until all air bubbles are removed. Shape into loaves adn put in oiled bread pans. Let rise until doubled. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. Loaves will sound hollow when tapped.
Make about 5 loaves, depending on pan size.
This is a great recipe that a wonderful woman taught me at a warm homemaking meeting years ago ( saying that makes me feel old, but it's true). She wouldn't give us a measurement for the flour. She said we had to learn by the feel and look of the dough. It has always turned out for me and I never measure the flour. Good luck!
